In the Brain Bridge Lab, we’ve been using drawings as a way to examine what content is contained in underlying memory representations. While this method is both quantifiable and objective, it has been very underutilized by the field at large. If you’re interested in learning how to use drawings in your own experiments, check out the tutorial series we have on our brand new YouTube channel! Dr. Bainbridge has also published this tutorial in Behavior Research Methods as ‘A tutorial on capturing mental representations through drawing and crowd-sourced scoring’; you can access the article here. The data and code used in the tutorial are also publicly available on OSF.
