In a recent paper that Dr. Wilma Bainbridge co-authored, titled “Predicting visual memory across images and within individuals,” the importance of considering both individual- and image-specific factors in predicting visual memory was highlighted. A memory model that included image memorability and sustained attentional state outperformed models that included either and could predict visual memory in an out-of-sample group (Wakeland-Hart et al., 2022).
