In the Memory Issue of the Highlight, a Vox publication, writer Brian Resnick interviews Dr. Wilma Bainbridge for an article titled ‘Why do we remember what we remember?’. The article is an excellent overview of on the emerging field of memorability (i.e.,the study of intrinsic & measurable stimulus properties that drive consistent memory performance across people), which is a major focus of our lab. Resnick and Dr. Bainbridge also discuss some recent and ongoing work in our lab, including the THINGS memorability project done by Max Kramer (a current M.A. student) and ResMem, a machine learning model for predicting image memorability built by recent lab graduate, Coen Needell. You can read the article here and learn more about our lab’s research under our ‘Research’ tab.
